Welke medicatie bij ADHD en autisme?
De meest gebruikte geneesmiddelgroepen zijn antipsychotica (met name Risperdal en Dipiperon) en het anti-ADHD middel Ritalin. Maar ook homeopathie, vitamines, clonidine (een middel tegen migraine en hoge bloeddruk), het antidepressivum paroxetine en het rustgevende middel oxazepam werden vaak genoemd.
Wat is een ADOS onderzoek?
De ADOS-2 is een gestandaardiseerd observatie-instrument voor onderzoek naar de communicatie, sociale interactie en (verbeeldend) spel. Het wordt afgenomen bij kinderen en adolescenten met een vermoedelijke autisme spectrum stoornis.

Hoe testen op autisme?
Autisme kan nog niet op een objectieve manier worden vastgesteld. Lichamelijk onderzoek, zoals bloedonderzoek of een hersenscan, levert onvoldoende informatie op. Autisme kan dan ook alleen worden vastgesteld aan de hand van uiterlijke gedragskenmerken.
