Als het een bedrijfsmiddel is, moet je het activeren en over de aanschaffingskosten afschrijven. Als bedrijfsmiddel kwalificeert de software dan ook voor de investeringsaftrek. Is de software geen bedrijfsmiddel, dan valt de aanschaf direct in de kosten dan wel wordt deze behandeld als transitorische post.
