Wat zie je op MRI prostaat?
Een MRI-scan kan een tumor in de prostaat in beeld brengen. De uroloog kan een MRI-scan aanvragen wanneer er een verdenking op prostaatkanker is. Tijdens de MRI-scan kan de radioloog een biopsie doen. Heb je voor de diagnose een echografie met biopsie gehad, dan kun je later nog een MRI-scan krijgen.
Hoe lang duurt een prostaatbiopsie?
U kunt voor het onderzoek een verdoving krijgen die de scherpe pijn wegneemt. De prostaat helemaal verdoven lukt meestal niet. Het onderzoek duurt 20-30 minuten. De eerste 3 dagen na het onderzoek mag u niet fietsen.
Waarom contrastvloeistof MRI prostaat?
U krijgt tijdens het maken van het MRI onderzoek contrastvloeistof toegediend. De contrastvloeistof zorgt ervoor dat verschillen tussen weefsels op een MRI onderzoek beter te zien zijn. Om contrastvloeistof toe te dienen krijgt u een infuus in de arm.
Hoe lang duurt een MRI scan van de prostaat?
Tijdens het onderzoek maken we meerdere opnamen. Per opname kan dit 2 seconden, maar ook 5 minuten duren. Een gemiddeld MRI-onderzoek van uw prostaat duurt 30 minuten.
Welke scan bij prostaatkanker?
Een PET-CT-scan is een combinatie van een PET-scan en een CT-scan. Het onderzoek brengt prostaatkankercellen in het hele lichaam in beeld. Een PET-CT-scan wordt bij prostaatkanker gebruikt om de uitgebreidheid van de ziekte te bepalen. Op de scan zijn ook uitzaaiingen te zien.
