Wat te doen na een TURP-operatie?
Na de operatie gaat u naar de uitslaapkamer. Naast uw bed staat een infuuspaal met twee zakken spoelvloeistof. De spoelvloeistof wordt via de katheter de blaas in- en uitgespoeld en komt terecht in een opvangzak onder uw bed. De snelheid en de hoeveelheid van het spoelen is afhankelijk van de kleur van de urine.

How is TUMT performed?
During TUMT, a special tube (catheter) is inserted into the urethra–which travels through the penis–and advanced up toward the bladder. The prostate surrounds the urethra near where it exits the bladder. A special antenna is inserted into the catheter until it is adjacent to the prostate.
What is the TUMT procedure for prostate cancer?
TUMT is generally considered a safe procedure with a low risk of side effects. It’s generally used for men with other health conditions for whom more invasive surgery isn’t recommended. A small microwave antenna is inserted through the tip of the penis into the tube that carries urine from the bladder (urethra).
How does TUMT work for BPH?
The antenna emits a dose of microwave energy that heats and destroys excess prostate tissue blocking urine flow. TUMT is one of several minimally invasive treatment options for an enlarged prostate, a condition known as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
