Waarom is Batman een vleermuis?
De stripfiguur verscheen voor het eerst in Detective Comics #27. De vleermuisman is voor een deel geïnspireerd door andere gemaskerde misdaadbestrijders als Zorro en The Shadow. Bob Kane kwam op het idee voor een “vleermuisman” door een tekening van Leonardo da Vinci van een ornithopter.
