Waar hield de WIC zich mee bezig?
De compagnie hield zich voornamelijk bezig met slavenhandel. De WIC had tot 1734 het monopolie op de Nederlandse slavenhandel. Deze vorm van handel werd ook wel trans-Atlantische slavenhandel of driehoekshandel genoemd.
